Non-Mecha Robotics

Non-Mecha Robotics applies to giant robots that appear to be Mech like in nature, but are not truly Mechs in that they do not have any form of pilot. All forms of mechs are used as some form of mobile assault units, much like aircraft and tanks. As is true with most mobile assault units today, they are piloted by various different kinds of people.

The Giant mecha-like robots displayed in this part of the Armory are more autonomous beings that do not require piloting of any kind. Some examples of giant mech-like beings who do not require any piloting would be such robots as Transformers and Go-Bots. In this section of the website, I focus mostly on Transformers.

While some mech toys may seem popular to the casual viewer, they pale in comparison to the popularity of non-mech toys. There is a dedicated following of toy collectors and enthusiasts who ravenously devour anything that is related to the world of Transformers. I feel that this popularity is and drive to collect these Transforming toys is mostly because they are fun to play with and transform. They are also popular since they are things of nostalgia to people who grew up in the eighties. Many of the Transforming toys mentioned also act well as good display pieces.
