The video game is based around the video game player piloting a giant robot for corporations as a mercenary in order to survive, gain money, and buy and customize your Mech. The Mecha are all fully customizable and allows for nearly any combination of parts to be made to create the perfect mech for any kind of mission a person might undertake.

The Player must choose between different missions and corporations in order to progress in the game and move the story along.

Below are two galleries for two of the major corporations used in the Armored Core 2 chapter of the this game series. The major corporations are Emeraude and Zio Matrix. While there are more corporations available in the game, this is just the number of toy lines that are currently available for purchase. Also, much like in the video game, a person can mix and match different pieces from each toy to make a custom mech.
